In addition to showcasing its SurePress L-6534VW UV digital label press, Epson personnel detailed the company’s recent partnership with Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM). The integration of inline finishing solutions brings a finisher, external unwinder and inspection systems from other partner companies, as well.

According to Epson’s Victor Gomez and Mike Pruitt, both of whom talked to L&NW about the new opportunities the partnership creates, the added features bring system flexibility to label converters. Label converters can gain access to a complete digital production solution ideally suited to their operation.

“Epson continues to support our high-volume label converter customers with the SurePress L-6534VW as a core label press for end-to-end digital printing,” says Victor Gomez, director, Industrial Labels, Epson America. “We developed this inline solution together with Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM), a valued partner to SurePress for over a decade, in order to help maximize our customers’ productivity and labor savings going from a blank media roll, all the way to the finished label with as little manual intervention as possible.”

There are multiple new inline solutions available for the SurePress L-6534VW. This includes an in line finisher, which is available directly from manufacturer GM. The DC330MINI finisher may be run in an inline configuration to save time unloading and reloading the printed roll. The finisher may also be run off-line, as the job requires. In addition, GM has a full line of customizable finishing options that include flexo stations, hot foil stamping, screen printing, and laser diecutting.

During Label Congress, Epson also ran live demonstrations from the company’s California-based facility. Visitors to the booth had the opportunity to see print runs remotely in real-time. A range of product experts were on-hand to walk guests through the presses’ technological capabilities.
